What is a DOT Physical?
A Department of Transportation (DOT) physical is a mandatory health examination for commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers. It ensures that drivers are physically, mentally, and emotionally fit to safely operate a CMV. This examination must be conducted by a licensed medical examiner listed on the FMCSA National Registry.
